Modern alternative to sand & cement

Liquid Screed

We install Longfloor liquid screed across Merseyside and Cheshire. A pump-applied, self-levelling floor solution that outperforms traditional methods on speed, quality, and performance.

What is liquid screed?

Liquid screed, also known as flow screed or self-levelling screed, is a modern flooring compound that is pumped into place and flows to create a perfectly flat, even surface without the labour-intensive hand-finishing required by traditional sand and cement screed.

Unlike conventional methods, liquid screed is mixed off-site and delivered by pump, making installation significantly faster. A trained operative can screed an entire floor in a fraction of the time it would take using traditional techniques with superior results.

Screed vs traditional – what’s the difference?

Traditional sand and cement screed requires skilled labourers to mix, lay, and hand-level the material over days. Liquid screed is pumped in and self-levels in hours. Dramatically reducing installation time, labour cost, and the risk of an uneven finish.

Ideal for underfloor heating

Liquid screed has superior thermal conductivity compared to sand and cement, meaning heat from your underfloor pipes travels more efficiently to the surface. Giving you a warmer floor that costs less to run.

How it works

1

Survey & assessment

We visit your site to assess the area, check levels, discuss requirements, and calculate exactly what you need. No commitment required.

2

Preparation

The subfloor is prepared and perimeter insulation installed. If underfloor heating is being fitted, pipes are laid and pressure-tested.

3

Screed installation

The Longfloor liquid screed is delivered by Spotmix and pumped into the area. It flows and self-levels to achieve a flawless, consistent finish.

4

Drying & handover

Light foot traffic is typically possible within 24-48 hours. We provide full guidance on drying times before floor coverings are laid.
